What to do if you have menstrual pain in your lower abdomen

What should I do if I have abdominal pain during menstruation?

Abdominal pain usually refers to lower abdominal pain. Menstrual lower abdominal pain can be caused by dysmenorrhea, gastroenteritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc. Different causes require different treatments.

1. Dysmenorrhea:

The main symptoms for patients are premenstrual or lower abdominal pain. The pain will gradually subside in some patients, while the pain in others will be severe and unbearable.

When you have dysmenorrhea, you can use a warming patch to warm your lower abdomen, and then drink brown sugar ginger water to relieve the pain. At the same time, you should keep warm. Avoid eating raw, cold, spicy, and greasy food. If the pain is severe, you can take painkillers such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules and acetaminophen tablets.

2. Gastroenteritis:

For example, acute inflammation of the gastrointestinal mucosa is mainly manifested by abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, which are mostly caused by improper or unhygienic diet.

It is recommended to eat small and frequent meals, try to increase calorie intake, eat easily digestible food rich in trace elements and vitamins. And make sure to get enough rest. You can take antibiotics, such as cephalosporin capsules, amoxicillin capsules, etc.

3. Pelvic inflammatory disease:

Pelvic inflammatory disease usually has no obvious systemic symptoms, but sometimes there are symptoms such as lower abdominal pain, lower abdominal swelling, pain, lumbar pain, and irregular menstruation.

Pay attention to rest, eat high-calorie, high-protein, and high-vitamin foods in moderation, and use physical cooling for high fever. Oral antibiotics, such as levofloxacin hydrochloride capsules, azithromycin dispersible, etc.

In addition to the relatively common causes mentioned above, there are other possibilities, such as endometritis, uterine abscess, abdominal tumor, etc. If you feel unwell, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to avoid delaying the condition. The use of the above drugs is recommended to be guided by a professional doctor.
