1. According to experts, the fallopian tubes and ovaries are called uterine appendages in the female reproductive organs. Adnexitis refers to inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries. However, fallopian tube and oophoritis are often accompanied by parauterine connective tissue inflammation and pelvic peritonitis, which are difficult to distinguish during diagnosis.

2. Pelvic peritonitis and parametrial connective tissue inflammation also belong to adnexitis. Adnexitis is divided into acute and chronic, and the symptoms are completely different. Abdominal pain and fever are the two most common symptoms in the acute phase. Abdominal pain is often manifested as severe pain on both sides of the lower abdomen, and sometimes one side of the lower abdomen is more painful than the other side.

3. Chronic patients may experience symptoms such as increased leucorrhea, increased or prolonged menstruation, irregular vaginal bleeding, and anorectal symptoms such as abdominal distension and diarrhea, or bladder irritation symptoms such as frequent urination and urgency.

There are many causes of adnexitis, the main ones are as follows:

1. Sitting posture for a long period of time will cause poor blood circulation in the lower limbs, which will affect the normal detoxification function of the ovaries and appendages and cause inflammation.

2. Often wearing tight clothes or similar tight clothes will cause vaginal excrement to accumulate, causing adnexitis due to vaginal inflammation.

3. After delivery or abortion, pathogens infect the reproductive tract and spread to the fallopian tubes and ovaries, causing inflammation.

4. When infections in other parts of the body are not treated in time, the pathogens can be transmitted through the blood and cause salpingo-oophoritis, which is more common in tuberculosis.

5. When the pelvic cavity or adjacent organs of the fallopian tube are inflamed, such as appendicitis, salpingo-oophoritis and pelvic peritonitis, it can be directly transmitted. Inflammation usually occurs on the adjacent fallopian tube and ovary side.

6. Sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea. After infection, gonorrhea bacteria can spread upward along the mucous membrane, causing inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries.
