How to treat cervicitis?

Cervicitis is a common gynecological disease and can be divided into two types: acute cervicitis and chronic cervicitis.

There are three main treatments for cervicitis:

1. Drug treatment: For patients with mild or moderate cervicitis, drug treatment is the first choice. Commonly used drugs include antibiotics such as ceftriaxone sodium, cefixime, etc., anti-inflammatory drugs such as metronidazole, tinidazole, etc., and drugs against chlamydia infection. Drug treatment not only works quickly, but also does not leave obvious sequelae. After the drug produces antibodies in the human body, the recurrence rate of cervicitis is low. For patients with high risk factors for sexually transmitted diseases, before the results of pathogen detection are obtained, empirical antibiotic treatment for chlamydia can be adopted, such as the use of azithromycin or doxycycline.

2. Physical therapy: Common physical therapies include laser, freezing, infrared coagulation therapy, microwave therapy and electrocautery, etc. Physical therapy is suitable for cases with large erosion area and deep inflammatory infiltration, and is mostly used for the treatment of moderate cervicitis and moderate cervical erosion.

3. Surgical treatment: When drug treatment and physical therapy have limited effects, patients can choose surgical treatment. Compared with the other two treatment options, surgical treatment has certain risks, but if the patient's condition is more serious, surgical treatment is still a more ideal treatment method.

The treatment of cervicitis should choose the appropriate treatment plan according to the patient's specific situation and the doctor's advice. During the treatment process, the patient should maintain good living habits and personal hygiene, and have regular checkups to understand the treatment effect and adjust the treatment plan in a timely manner.
