Which is more serious, pelvic inflammatory disease or adnexitis?

With the continuous improvement of living environment, the incidence of gynecological diseases is getting higher and higher. Pelvic inflammatory disease and adnexitis are common gynecological diseases, and many women confuse these two diseases.

1. Adhesitis refers to inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries in women. Pelvic inflammatory disease refers to inflammation of the female pelvic reproductive organs, connective tissue around the uterus, and pelvic peritonitis.

Second, the symptoms are similar. For acute pelvic inflammatory disease, the symptoms are persistent lower abdominal pain, fever, increased leucorrhea, and more severe after activities or sexual intercourse. However, for chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, it is just a bulge in the lower abdomen, pain in the lumbosacral region, and frequent fatigue. The condition worsens after sexual intercourse and before and after menstruation. Acute adnexitis is acute lower abdominal pain accompanied by fever, while chronic adnexitis, the latter often increases vaginal discharge, low back pain, menstrual disorders, etc. Third, the difference in the examination methods, adnexitis can be examined by B-ultrasound examination and surface inflammation. Pelvic inflammatory disease can be examined by directly smearing secretions, culturing pathogens, posterior hernia puncture, ultrasound, and laparoscopy.

Generally speaking, adnexitis is a common disease caused by pathogenic microorganisms invading and multiplying, causing infection of the fallopian tubes and ovaries. It is divided into acute and chronic. Acute adnexitis has obvious symptoms, such as fever, chills, severe pain in the lower abdomen, etc. Chronic adnexitis has varying degrees of abdominal pain, or lower abdominal swelling and fatigue. When it is mild or severe, it is accompanied by symptoms such as increased leucorrhea, back pain, and menstrual disorders. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is not obvious, and sometimes there is a low fever and fatigue. The course of the disease is long, and some patients may have symptoms of neurasthenia.
