What are the dietary precautions for adenomyosis?

What are the dietary considerations for adenomyosis?

Pay attention to the following six points: Diet for adenomyosis:

1. Don't be greedy for cold: Women with poor gastrointestinal function should avoid eating cold drinks and foods before and during menstruation, such as cold drinks, raw cold dishes, crabs, snails, clam meat, leeches, pears, persimmons, watermelons, bananas, bitter melons, mangosteens, mung beans, cucumbers, water chestnuts, grapefruits, oranges, etc., to avoid condensation of blood stasis and aggravation of dysmenorrhea.

2. Don’t eat sour food: Acidic food has astringent effect, which makes blood stagnant and is not conducive to the smooth flow and discharge of menstrual blood. Patients with dysmenorrhea should try to avoid eating such food during menstruation. Acidic food includes rice vinegar, hot and sour vegetables, kimchi, pomegranate, green plum, bayberry, strawberry, carambola, cherry, sour jujube, mango, apricot, plum, lemon, etc.

3. Do not eat spicy food: Some patients with dysmenorrhea have heavy menstruation. Eating spicy, warm, and irritating foods will aggravate pelvic congestion and inflammation, or cause excessive contraction of uterine muscles, aggravating dysmenorrhea. Patients with dysmenorrhea should try to eat less or no chili peppers, pepper, garlic, onions, ginger, leeks, chicken soup, durian, and spicy condiments.

4. Do not eat hot, blood-clotting, or hormone-containing foods, such as longan, red dates, donkey-hide gelatin, royal jelly, etc.

5. Lamb, shrimp, crab, eel, salted fish, black fish and other items should not be eaten.

6. Eat more calcium-containing foods. You can also take active calcium citrate to supplement the lack of calcium in food.
