What are the symptoms of mucinous ovarian cysts? How to take care of them?

The symptoms of mucinous cystadenoma of the ovary are generally manifested as a smooth surface, bluish-white color, and multiple chambers. The ovarian cyst contains lotus pollen mucus. Occasionally, patients with ovarian cysts have papillary protrusions on the cyst wall, which is called papillary mucinous cystadenoma. The right cyst wall ruptures, and tumor cells can be implanted on the peritoneum and visceral surface, producing a large amount of mucus, which is called peritoneal myxoma.

Symptoms of mucinous ovarian cysts include:

1. Thickening of waist circumference and swelling of abdomen are the most common symptoms.

2. Abdominal pain: If the tumor has no complications, there will be little pain. Patients with ovarian tumors may experience abdominal pain, especially if it occurs suddenly, which is mostly caused by tumor rupture, bleeding or infection.

3. Compression symptoms: Huge ovarian tumors can cause dyspnea and palpitations, and ovarian tumors with large amounts of ascites can also cause.

4. Menstrual disorders. Generally, ovarian cysts, even bilateral ovarian cysts, do not cause menstrual disorders because they do not destroy all normal ovarian tissues.

Care for mucinous ovarian cysts includes:

1. Regular screening should be conducted to detect ovarian tumors frequently and promptly. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, surgery should be performed as soon as possible. Malignant ovarian tumors should be treated with surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy.

2. Follow-up observation: Cysts with a diameter of less than 5 cm may be non-vegetative cysts, most of which can disappear on their own, but regular follow-up is necessary. If there is an increase, surgery should be performed immediately.
