What are the symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease?

Symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease generally include lower abdominal pain, abnormal menstruation, abnormal vaginal discharge, and systemic symptoms.

Symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease:

1. Abdominal pain: The main symptom of pelvic inflammatory disease is lower abdominal pain, usually persistent swelling and pain. The pain worsens after sexual intercourse or activity. In patients with severe pelvic inflammatory disease, the pain may radiate to the waist, back, and thighs.

2. Menstrual abnormalities: During menstruation, when pelvic inflammatory disease occurs, symptoms such as increased menstrual volume, prolonged menstruation, menorrhagia and purulent secretions may occur.

3. Abnormal vaginal discharge: It may be manifested as increased vaginal discharge with an unpleasant odor. Due to the increase in white blood cells, the vaginal discharge may also turn yellow. When the mucosal tissue is congested and edematous, there may be a small amount of bleeding. It manifests as abnormal vaginal bleeding during menstruation, after menstruation, and during non-menstrual periods.

4. Systemic symptoms: When inflammation involves the peritoneum and digestive tract, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal distension, and diarrhea may occur. When the urinary system is affected, symptoms such as urinary urgency, painful urination, and incomplete urination may occur. In addition, severe pelvic inflammatory disease may cause fever, fatigue, headache, and other symptoms.

Treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease:

Patients with pelvic inflammatory disease can take levofloxacin hydrochloride capsules, Gongyanping capsules, Gynecological Qianjin tablets and other drugs for treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
