Is 11MM of pelvic fluid normal? How to judge

In clinical practice, the severity of pelvic effusion is mainly determined by the amount of effusion. So, is 11mm of pelvic effusion normal? How to judge?

The normal value of pelvic effusion should be less than 10 mm. Physiological pelvic effusion is less than 10 mm. During the menstrual period and the first few days after the menstrual period, some menstrual blood may flow back along the fallopian tube to the pelvic cavity, and ultrasound will show a small amount of effusion. Or after ovulation, follicular fluid will flow into the pelvic cavity along with the ruptured follicles. Generally, the amount is very small, and a slightly larger amount can be seen under ultrasound. These two types can disappear naturally, no treatment is required, and will not cause harm to the body.

Pelvic effusion is generally caused by pelvic inflammation. Pelvic effusion indicates inflammation. It can be treated with medication. After the pelvic inflammation is cured, the pelvic effusion will naturally disappear. However, pelvic effusion is not determined by the amount. It mainly depends on whether it is physiological effusion or inflammatory effusion. If pelvic effusion occurs, you should go to the hospital for examination in time to avoid delaying the disease and missing the best time for treatment.

If a woman's pelvic effusion is larger than 10mm, it is usually caused by chronic pelvic inflammation, i.e. pathological pelvic effusion. The causes of pathological pelvic effusion include: medically induced infection caused by artificial abortion, inadequate disinfection of induced labor, etc.
