What does ectopic pregnancy mean?

Ectopic pregnancy, also known as ectopic pregnancy, refers to the phenomenon that the fertilized egg implants and develops outside the uterine cavity. This is a common gynecological acute abdomen, mainly including fallopian tube pregnancy, ovarian pregnancy and abdominal pregnancy.

The causes of ectopic pregnancy may involve a variety of factors, including but not limited to fallopian tube-related lesions (such as inflammation, infection, dysplasia, deformity, etc.), contraceptive failure (such as failure to place an intrauterine device or oral emergency contraceptive pills), the use of assisted reproductive technology (such as in vitro fertilization, etc.), and other factors (such as smoking, aging, multiple sexual partners, endocrine disorders, etc.). The symptoms of ectopic pregnancy may vary from person to person, but common symptoms include: amenorrhea, abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, syncope and shock.

The diagnostic methods of ectopic pregnancy include pregnancy test, laparoscopy, ultrasound diagnosis, posterior fornix puncture and endometrial pathology examination, etc. Among them, laparoscopy is the gold standard for diagnosing ectopic pregnancy.

Ectopic pregnancy is extremely harmful to women's health and may cause irregular vaginal bleeding, fallopian tube rupture, severe miscarriage, and even endanger the patient's life. Female friends must pay attention to ectopic pregnancy and seek medical attention in time when relevant symptoms occur.

If a pregnant woman experiences symptoms such as irregular vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain after menopause, she should be alert to the occurrence of ectopic pregnancy and seek medical examination and treatment in a timely manner.
