Can an ectopic pregnancy be detected with a pregnancy test stick?

Ectopic pregnancy is clinically called ectopic pregnancy, which means that the fertilized egg implants outside the uterine cavity. The most common ectopic pregnancy is fallopian tube pregnancy, and the rare ones are ovarian pregnancy, cervical pregnancy, broad ligament pregnancy and abdominal pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy cannot be detected by pregnancy test sticks. You can go to the hospital to test human chorionic gonadotropin and B-ultrasound to confirm whether it is an ectopic pregnancy.

Pregnancy test sticks can generally only detect whether you are pregnant. After pregnancy, when the level of human chorionic gonadotropin in urine reaches a certain concentration, pregnancy can generally be detected by testing morning urine with a pregnancy test stick, but it cannot detect whether it is an ectopic pregnancy.

To rule out an ectopic pregnancy, you can go to the hospital to have a blood test for human chorionic gonadotropin. If it is a normal intrauterine pregnancy, the level of human chorionic gonadotropin will generally double every other day; if it is an ectopic pregnancy, the level of human chorionic gonadotropin is generally low and will not double every other day. It is also necessary to combine it with B-ultrasound examination. If a gestational sac or yolk sac is seen outside the uterine cavity, it can generally be diagnosed as an ectopic pregnancy.

Therefore, if a woman wants to rule out ectopic pregnancy after she becomes pregnant, she usually needs to seek medical attention in time and rule it out by doing the above two tests. If intrauterine pregnancy is confirmed, you can rest assured to take care of the fetus. If it is an ectopic pregnancy, it is recommended to terminate the pregnancy as soon as possible to prevent the embryo from continuing to grow and rupture, causing heavy bleeding and endangering the woman's life.
