Ectopic pregnancy refers to ectopic pregnancy in clinical practice, which means that the fertilized egg implants and develops outside the uterine cavity. Usually, pregnancy test sticks can only detect whether you are pregnant, but cannot detect whether it is an ectopic pregnancy. You still need to go to the hospital for relevant examinations. The pregnancy test stick mainly detects the level of human chorionic gonadotropin in urine, which is secreted by the trophoblast cells of the placenta. Whether it is a normal pregnancy or an ectopic pregnancy, as long as the fertilized egg implants and begins to develop, human chorionic gonadotropin will be secreted. When using a pregnancy test stick for testing, no matter what kind of pregnancy, as long as the level of human chorionic gonadotropin is high enough, the pregnancy test stick will show a positive result, indicating pregnancy. To rule out ectopic pregnancy, you need to seek medical attention in time and use ultrasound to observe whether the location of the gestational sac is in the uterine cavity. If the gestational sac is outside the uterine cavity, such as in the fallopian tubes, ovaries, etc., it can be diagnosed as ectopic pregnancy. Ultrasound examination can usually detect the gestational sac in early pregnancy (about 5-6 weeks of pregnancy). You can also go to the hospital to draw venous blood to test the level of human chorionic gonadotropin in the venous blood, and draw venous blood again the next day. If the level of human chorionic gonadotropin in the blood doubles the next day, the possibility of ectopic pregnancy is relatively small. |
