How thick is the endometrium before you get cancer?

How thick is the endometrium before you get cancer?

Cancer cannot usually be diagnosed based on the thickness of the endometrium. However, if the endometrium is too thick and exceeds 15 mm, it indicates the possibility of endometrial cancer and requires prompt examination at the hospital for a confirmed diagnosis.

The thickness of the endometrium will change with the menstrual cycle. When menstruation is about to come, the endometrium is the thickest, generally 8 to 12 mm, and no more than 15 mm. If you have endometrial cancer, the endometrium will proliferate and thicken abnormally, usually accompanied by irregular vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, a feeling of falling and other symptoms. If the thickness of the endometrium exceeds 15 mm and the above symptoms appear, it indicates the possibility of endometrial cancer. Go to the hospital in time for diagnosis and treatment, curettage, hysteroscopy and other examinations, remove a part of the endometrium for pathology, and if cancer cells are found, endometrial cancer can be diagnosed. If a clear diagnosis is made, according to the stage, follow the doctor's advice to use drugs, surgical removal of the uterus, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other treatment measures.

Endometrial thickness alone cannot be used as a basis for diagnosing endometrial cancer. Some cases are caused by other reasons, such as endometritis, endocrine disorders, endometrial polyps, etc. It is recommended that patients go to the hospital for relevant examinations in a timely manner. After a clear diagnosis, follow the doctor's advice for reasonable treatment according to different causes.
