What are the early symptoms of cervical erosion in women? To prevent cervical erosion, you must know these causes

Cervical erosion used to be a disease that troubled many women. When going for a physical examination, almost nine out of ten women would be diagnosed with cervical erosion.

Introduction to the early symptoms of cervical erosion

1. The early symptoms of cervical erosion include urinary urgency, frequent urination, and painful urination. In severe cases, backache and lower abdominal distension may occur. Some female patients do not have obvious early symptoms of cervical erosion, and the patients do not feel any obvious discomfort. They can only be discovered during gynecological examinations.

2. The amount of leucorrhea increases and becomes thicker. Purulent leucorrhea may appear when there is an infection. There may be blood mixed in the leucorrhea. There may be contact bleeding after sexual intercourse or non-menstrual bleeding. Excessive leucorrhea may irritate the vulva, causing itching and burning sensation.

3. Severe cervical erosion may cause increased vaginal discharge, which may be purulent or bloody and have a foul odor. Leucorrhea may irritate the vulva and cause vulvar itching. There may also be lower abdominal distension and pain, which worsens after sexual intercourse, and may also cause discomfort such as frequent urination.

4. Cervical erosion is one of the manifestations of chronic cervicitis and is a common and frequently occurring gynecological disease. Cervical erosion is mostly caused by childbirth or unclean sexual life. Some people may suffer from cervical erosion even though they pay attention to personal hygiene, which may be related to their physical constitution.

Inventory of symptoms of mid- and late-stage cervical erosion

1. Concurrent diseases: When suffering from cervical erosion, it will cause inflammation of other organs, such as: the pathogens of cervical erosion can ascend to cause endometritis; it can spread through the parauterine ligaments and lymphatic vessels to cause chronic pelvic inflammatory disease; when the inflammation spreads to the bladder triangle, it can cause urinary system diseases, which is one of the common hazards of cervical erosion.

2. Infertility: The harm of cervical erosion will have an adverse effect on fertility. When cervical erosion occurs, especially moderate or severe cervical erosion, cervical secretions will increase significantly, become viscous, and contain a large number of white blood cells, which will have an adverse effect on sperm motility, hinder sperm from entering the uterine cavity, and affect conception.

3. Worsening: It can cause deeper lesions. Due to long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation, it can cause polyps, lacerations, eversions and cysts, and even cancer.

4. Canceration: According to the analysis of gynecological experts, the incidence of cervical cancer in women with cervical erosion is nearly ten times higher than that of the general population. Under the stimulation of long-term chronic inflammation, atypical hyperplasia may occur in the columnar epithelium derived from the hyperplasia of the cervical canal. If it is not treated promptly and correctly, it will gradually develop into precancerous lesions of the cervix.

To prevent cervical erosion, you must first understand the cause

(1) First: Unclean Sexual Life

Unmarried women are protected by the barrier of the hymen, and the microecological environment in the vagina is balanced. Even if there are pathogens invading, it is difficult to cause trouble, so cervical erosion rarely occurs. Once you have sex, the vagina is relatively in an "open" state. During sex, the penis and the cervix are in direct contact. If men do not pay attention to sexual hygiene, they can directly bring pathogens into the vagina and infect the cervix; for women who have already suffered from cervical erosion, it can aggravate their cervical inflammation and expand the erosion surface. In severe cases, bleeding may occur during sex, so cervical erosion is the fault of men. Therefore, before sex, you must persuade men to clean their external genitalia.

(2) Second: Multiple artificial abortions

More importantly, repeated artificial abortions can cause varying degrees of cervical damage, giving bacteria an opportunity to invade and cause cervicitis. Due to the stimulation of inflammation, local secretions increase, and the cervix will be immersed in inflammatory secretions for a long time, which will cause erosion. Therefore, women of childbearing age must do a good job of contraception, avoid multiple artificial abortions, and prevent the occurrence of cervical erosion.

Mild cervical erosion often has no clinical symptoms. Some patients may experience increased vaginal discharge, which may be milky white mucus or yellow pus. Sometimes there may be bloody vaginal discharge or cervical contact bleeding. It generally does not affect fertility, so female friends do not need to worry too much.

(3) Third: Over-cleaning

Some women are very particular about hygiene, but lack the necessary knowledge. They often use high concentrations of disinfectant to wash the vagina, which is counterproductive. This is because it will not only affect the growth of normal vaginal flora and reduce its ability to inhibit bacteria, but also cause varying degrees of damage to the cervical epithelium, and eventually erosion. Therefore, the correct way to wash the genitals should be: wash the vulva appropriately, do not wash the vagina unless necessary, maintain the natural defense line of the female reproductive tract, do not destroy the ecological balance in the vagina, and do not let bacteria stir up trouble.

(4) Fourth: Menstruation lasts too long

Studies have shown that cervical erosion is related to the menstrual cycle and the duration of the menstrual cycle: the prevalence rate is 81.80% for menstrual cycles ≤20 days, and ≤43.81% for menstrual cycles ≥20 days; the prevalence rate is only 33.33% for menstrual cycles ≤2 days, and 83.33% for menstrual cycles ≥8 days. Therefore, women with short cycles and long durations are more likely to develop cervical erosion. The incidence of erosion can be reduced by extending the cycle and shortening the menstrual period.

(5) Fifth: Multiple sexual partners, excessive sexual activity (more than 4 times a week), sexual activity during menstruation, etc. are also causes of cervical erosion that cannot be ignored.
