What are the symptoms of uterine fibroids? Is increased vaginal discharge a common symptom of uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids, also known as uterine leiomyoma, are the most common benign tumors in the reproductive organs of our female friends. The general symptoms of uterine fibroids are not very obvious. A small number of patients with uterine fibroids will have symptoms such as vaginal bleeding, compression, and abdominal tumors.

The symptoms of uterine fibroids are related to the growth site and size of the uterine fibroids, especially the growth site. For example, uterine fibroids growing under the serosa may have no symptoms even if the uterine fibroids here grow very large, while uterine fibroids growing under the mucosa may have irregular bleeding symptoms in the early stages.

Symptoms of uterine fibroids:

1. Vaginal bleeding: This is the most common symptom of uterine fibroids. Generally speaking, uterine fibroids under the mucosa will have irregular bleeding. This symptom usually does not occur under the serosa.

2. Lumps: The abdomen will be swollen, accompanied by a feeling of descending, which is usually discovered by accidental contact or during a gynecological examination.

3. Compression symptoms: Due to the different growth locations and sizes of fibroids, different compression symptoms may occur. For example, uterine fibroids born on the front wall of the uterus will compress the bladder, causing frequent urination, urgency, and even urinary retention in women; uterine fibroids growing on the back wall of the uterus will compress the rectum of women, causing constipation.

4. Infertility: Uterine fibroids can compress the fallopian tubes, causing them to twist, or cause the uterus to deform, affecting the fertilized egg bed, etc., which can cause infertility symptoms in women.

5. Pain: Generally, patients with uterine fibroids do not have abdominal pain, but often have lower abdominal swelling, back pain, etc. If the uterine fibroids undergo degenerative changes, it will cause severe abdominal pain. Submucosal uterine fibroids can also cause dysmenorrhea in women.

6. Increased vaginal discharge: This is one of the most common symptoms of uterine fibroids. Sometimes there will be a lot of pus, blood or necrotic tissue discharged, accompanied by a peculiar smell.

Generally speaking, the symptoms of uterine fibroids are the above points. Through the introduction, female friends have a deeper understanding of uterine fibroids. If female friends unfortunately have one or more of the above points, they should go to the hospital for examination in time to confirm whether it is caused by uterine fibroids, so as to achieve early detection and early treatment of the disease. Finally, I wish most female friends good health.
