How to treat elderly patients with vaginitis? Prevention methods of vaginitis

Senile vaginitis refers to vaginitis in postmenopausal women. It is a common disease in elderly women. It is related to ovarian failure in elderly women, decreased estrogen levels in the body, increased vaginal pH and decreased vaginal self-cleaning ability. Patients with senile vaginitis often have increased secretions, yellow watery secretions, and some patients have bloody and purulent secretions, accompanied by severe vulvar itching or burning pain.

Sexual intercourse is prohibited during the acute stage of senile vaginitis, because it will aggravate the infection, causing congestion, bleeding and tearing of the vaginal mucosa. The patient will also experience obvious pain, and strenuous exercise may also cause penetration damage to the end of the vagina. Senile vaginitis can further weaken the already declining sexual desire, and some patients may even stop having sex.

In fact, elderly patients with vaginitis can have moderate sexual intercourse after the increase in secretions, bloody purulent secretions, itching and other diseases disappear, which is very beneficial to patients. First, sexual intercourse can prevent the occurrence of vaginal adhesions. For patients with mild adhesions left after the healing of vaginitis, penis expansion can promote separation; second, moderate sexual intercourse can also prevent excessive vaginal atrophy; third, maintaining a moderate sexual life can help women fully restore their sexual function and enhance the relationship between husband and wife.

It is worth noting that after the cure of senile vaginitis, leucorrhea disappears, the vagina becomes dry, and lubrication decreases. Therefore, you should pay attention to slow movements, prolong the caressing time before sex, and promote the secretion of vaginal mucus. If necessary, you can use lubricants or tetracycline eye ointment to avoid pain during intercourse.
