How to distinguish miscarriage and menstruation, and what are the types of miscarriage?

Many female friends have spontaneous abortions in the early stages of pregnancy, but they are unaware of the vaginal bleeding and think it is their period, which results in more serious consequences. So, how do we distinguish between abortion and menstruation? Both are vaginal bleeding, so how can we better distinguish them?

How to tell if it's miscarriage or menstruation ? Menstruation refers to the regular vaginal bleeding that occurs once a month. When women enter puberty, their ovaries begin to mature and begin to secrete female hormones, and the endometrium changes accordingly, resulting in menstruation. A normal female menstrual cycle should be 28 days, and the menstrual period generally lasts 3-5 days. The amount of menstrual blood during the menstrual period is about 20-50 ml. Some women experience symptoms such as lower abdominal distension, backache, breast development, emotional anxiety, and stomach pain before or during menstruation.
Miscarriage refers to the death of the fetus in the womb before 24 weeks of pregnancy due to weak Qi and blood, kidney deficiency, etc. The signs of miscarriage are abdominal cramps, vaginal bleeding and red discharge. Studies have found that in the early stages of pregnancy, about 50% of fertilized embryos cannot develop successfully and will be excreted from the body with menstrual blood.
If it is a natural miscarriage, in addition to bleeding, there will be tissue discharge. The blood will be relatively bright in color, and there will be translucent substances as big as one or two pounds of meat. However, if menstruation comes, there will generally be no above symptoms.
Introduction to abortion types <br/>Incomplete abortion: The fetus has been delivered after an inevitable abortion, but part or all of the placenta remains in the uterine cavity. The difference between threatened abortion and menstruation is that the uterus contracts, vaginal bleeding increases, and even heavy bleeding may cause shock.
Complete abortion: The fetus and placenta are completely expelled, the difference between threatened abortion and menstruation, bleeding stops, and abdominal pain disappears.
Threatened abortion: Only a small amount of vaginal bleeding, accompanied by lower abdominal pain and back pain. Threatened abortion and menstruation can be distinguished by vaginal examination.
Inevitable miscarriage: It is the further development of threatened miscarriage. Threatened miscarriage and vaginal miscarriage can be distinguished by the amount of vaginal bleeding. Inevitable miscarriage has vaginal bleeding that exceeds the amount of menstruation, and the lower abdominal cramps are aggravated.
