What tests should be done for cervical erosion? These 3 items must be done

The female reproductive system has internal organs, and we are familiar with the uterus, ovaries, and vagina. Although the female reproductive system is inside the body, it is still fragile, and the incidence of gynecological diseases is much higher than that of the male reproductive system, such as vaginitis and cervical diseases that we often hear about. Cervical erosion is particularly "famous" among cervical lesions. If the degree of lesions is high, and the inspection, diagnosis, and treatment are not timely, it is easy to develop cancer. Therefore, it is very important to know how to check cervical erosion and how to judge whether lesions have occurred.

Most women don't know much about cervical erosion examinations, and think that they can see the condition of the cervix by just doing a vaginal examination. In fact, this is not the case. Vaginal examinations cannot penetrate into the internal reproductive system, and cannot make accurate judgments about the cervix, uterus, and ovaries. So how to check for cervical erosion? Patients with cervical erosion usually undergo cervical liquid-based cytology and HPV virus testing. If the test results are abnormal, a colposcopy is required. If the colposcopy results are abnormal, a cervical pathological biopsy is required.

1. Cervical liquid-based cytology and HPV virus testing
If the results of these two tests are negative, it is a normal physiological phenomenon. If the test shows more inflammatory cells, there is cervical inflammation, and if there is epithelial cell hyperplasia, it is a precancerous lesion. If the HPV virus test shows high-risk HPV and the infection persists, there is a precancerous lesion or even cancer.
2. Colposcopy
If the HPV virus test results of cervical liquid-based cytology are abnormal, a colposcopy is required to confirm the diagnosis.
3. Cervical biopsy
If the results of the colposcopy are abnormal, a cervical biopsy is required to determine the condition and the possibility of cancer, and to provide a reasonable treatment plan.
