When should women have an abortion?

Every year, many women go to the hospital for abortion. They have to pay for their own health because they are young. Women usually know whether they are pregnant through hospital examinations or pregnancy test strips when they have pregnancy symptoms. So how long does it take to have an abortion?

Generally speaking, abortion can be completed within 70 days of pregnancy. 35-50 days of pregnancy is a good time for abortion. Before abortion, the doctor must diagnose intrauterine pregnancy through hCG and B-ultrasound, and determine the number of days of conception and the size of the gestational sac (gestational sac greater than 5mm) to accommodate painless abortion. There are also individual differences in abortion, which should be determined according to the size and situation of the gestational sac.

If the pregnancy is less than 35 days and the gestational sac is too small, it is not conducive to abortion surgery because suction or leakage can easily occur, leading to failure of the surgery or incomplete abortion, and the uterus needs to be cleaned again. If the gestational sac develops rapidly, surgery can also be performed, but it must be performed in a regular hospital and under the supervision of senior experts.

If the pregnancy period exceeds 70 days and the gestational sac is too large, curettage or induced labor is generally required. However, if the gestational sac is underdeveloped and does not exceed the scope of surgery, abortion can also be chosen.

The gestational sac is of moderate size and there is little bleeding: At this time, the gestational sac is of moderate size and the uterine wall is thicker, making it easy to remove the gestational sac, with little surgical damage and little bleeding.

Little damage to the uterus and low risk: At this time, the abortion operation is less difficult, with little damage to the uterus and low risk.

Quick recovery after surgery, no need for hospitalization: Due to the small trauma, no hospitalization is required after surgery. The postoperative recovery is quick and will not affect the progress of work and study, nor will it affect future sexual life and fertility.

Depending on the stage of pregnancy, hospitals will use different abortion methods. So if you have an unwanted pregnancy and you want to have an abortion, you need to do the surgery between 30 and 45 days of pregnancy, which can better reduce the risks.
