How to check ovarian cysts? Ovarian cysts are a common gynecological disease. They can occur at any age, but are most common in women aged 20 to 50. Many women don't know much about ovarian cysts, their causes, or even how they occur. So, how to check ovarian cysts once they occur? 1. Laparoscopy: It can directly see the general condition of the tumor, observe the entire pelvic and abdominal cavity, perform multiple biopsies at suspicious sites, and absorb peritoneal fluid for cytological examination, which can confirm the diagnosis and postoperative monitoring. However, it is contraindicated for patients with huge masses or adhesions, and retroperitoneal lymph nodes cannot be observed. 2. Radiological diagnosis: MRI, CT, etc. are helpful for diagnosing tumor metastasis to the liver, lungs, and retroperitoneal lymph nodes, and abdominal plain films are helpful for diagnosing intestinal obstruction. 3. Secondly: If the cyst is a malignant ovarian tumor, like other tumors, it can produce and release a variety of products such as antigens, hormones and enzymes. These substances can be detected in the patient's serum through immunological, biochemical and other methods. They are called tumor markers and indicate the presence of a certain tumor in the body. (1) Antigen marker CA125 is a relatively sensitive tumor marker for ovarian tumors. AFP is the best tumor marker for endodermal sinus tumors. The AFP value may also be elevated in immature teratomas. The increase in AFP often precedes clinical signs. It is of great significance in diagnosis and monitoring. (2) Hormone markers. The beta subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) is a highly specific marker for gestational trophoblastic disease. The serum concentration of β-hCG in patients with ovarian choriocarcinoma is often elevated. Estrogen levels are elevated in patients with granulosa cell tumors and theca cell tumors. 30% of patients with testicular blastoma have increased urinary 17-ketosteroid excretion. (3) Enzyme marker/lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), the excretion of which is increased in patients with ovarian malignant tumors. Before undergoing an ovarian cyst examination, patients need to understand this before proceeding to avoid causing many influences during the examination and not obtaining the most accurate test results. Therefore, for your health, it is recommended that you undergo the examination after understanding the precautions. |
