Do I need to do a checkup before medical abortion?

Many friends who want to terminate pregnancy through medication often have such questions: Do you need to do an examination before medical abortion? In fact, the answer is yes. In order to better understand the patient's physical condition and ensure the safety of the operation, an examination is required before any abortion operation. Of course, medical abortion is no exception. Let me introduce to you what examinations need to be done before medical abortion?

1. The most important and most important test before medical abortion is the early pregnancy test (HCG). From the 7th day of pregnancy, a specific hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin (GCG for short), can be detected in the urine of pregnant women. The urine pregnancy test usually performed in the hospital tests this hormone. This is one of the tests to be done before medical abortion.

2. Ultrasound diagnosis is also very important. The B-ultrasound examination before painless abortion is to check whether the fetal sac can be seen and to determine the size of the fetal sac. It is mainly to determine whether it is an ectopic pregnancy. If the fetal sac cannot be seen, it may be a short time. The doctor will ask you to wait a few days before rechecking the B-ultrasound.

3. Routine examination of leucorrhea is also something that women should not ignore. Check whether there are trichomonas and fungi in the vagina. If necessary, chlamydia, mycoplasma, and gonococci should be checked. If the above microorganisms are present, it is easy to cause ascending infection, affect the embryonic development in the next pregnancy, and induce miscarriage. This is an essential examination before decompression drug abortion.

4. Cervical mucus crystallization: Estrogen can produce cervical mucus crystallization, while progesterone has an inhibitory effect on crystallization. Therefore, checking cervical mucus crystallization during pregnancy can predict the prognosis of miscarriage.

5. Basal body temperature: In early pregnancy, the high temperature curve should be maintained for about 16 weeks and gradually return to normal. If the basal body temperature is the same as that of normal pregnancy during the period of abortion, the prognosis is good. If it is lower than that of normal pregnancy, the prognosis is poor.

6. Hormone measurement: For miscarriage caused by endocrine abnormalities, hormones can be measured according to different situations. For example, if luteal insufficiency is suspected, pregnanediol can be measured to observe dynamic changes and choose appropriate treatment methods.
