What are the causes of incomplete abortion?

Incomplete abortion is also a type of abortion, because part of the embryonic tissue still remains in the uterus, which is very harmful to the pregnant woman's body. Sometimes medical means are needed to expel the residual material. Pregnant mothers should pay more attention to all aspects after pregnancy to prevent the occurrence of incomplete abortion. So, what are the causes of incomplete abortion?

Incomplete abortion often occurs in late pregnancy (after 10 weeks), when the placenta is developing or has already formed. During abortion, the fetus and part of the placenta are expelled, and the whole placenta or part of the placenta is still attached to the uterine wall. The uterus cannot contract well, resulting in heavy vaginal bleeding. The remaining placenta can form placental polyps over time, causing repeated bleeding and easily inducing infection.

Embryonic (or fetal) factors:

1. Abnormal embryonic development: It is the most common cause of early miscarriage, and miscarriage caused by chromosomal abnormalities accounts for about 50% to 60%.

2. Placental abnormalities: Due to incomplete development of the trophoblast, degeneration of the placental villi, or the placenta is attached too low, fetal-placental circulation may be impaired, leading to miscarriage.

Maternal factors:

1. Acute infectious diseases, which may cause fetal death due to pathogens or toxins invading through the placenta, or cause uterine contractions and miscarriage due to high fever or poisoning;

2. Severe anemia or heart failure, resulting in fetal death due to lack of oxygen;

3. Endocrine disorders, such as corpus luteum insufficiency, lead to decidua dysplasia and affect the development of fertilized eggs;

4. Uterine hypoplasia, uterine fibroids or deformities can also hinder embryonic development;

5. Due to the relaxation of the internal cervical os, it cannot withstand the increased pressure of the fetal sac, resulting in late miscarriage;

6. Strong mental stimulation, trauma or sexual intercourse can also cause miscarriage.

During pregnancy, check your hormone secretion in time to see if it is normal, adjust your mentality in time, seek timely treatment if you have symptoms of depression, and do not cause miscarriage due to carelessness.
