Why is chronic pelvic peritonitis prone to recurrence?

Pelvic peritonitis is a common and frequently occurring gynecological disease. It is an inflammation of the female internal reproductive organs and the connective tissues around them, including chronic endometritis, chronic salpingitis, oophoritis and chronic connective tissue inflammation. It is often caused by the failure to completely treat acute pelvic peritonitis, or the poor physical condition of the patient, resulting in a prolonged course of the disease. It is one of the common causes of ectopic pregnancy, infertility, gynecological pelvic pain and pelvic adhesion diseases. It is easy to recur and difficult to cure, which seriously affects women's physical and mental health. In recent years, the incidence rate has been increasing.

1. Pay attention to personal hygiene of the reproductive tract, contraception, and try to avoid intrauterine operation. Clinical patients with repeated vaginitis, failed contraceptive measures, too many abortions, etc., lead to repeated pelvic peritonitis and prolonged illness.

2. Eat a light diet and avoid spicy, raw and cold food. Patients often say that after eating beef, mutton, and dog meat during holidays, they suffer from acute pelvic peritonitis. Beef and mutton are irritants, so can't they be eaten? But after careful inquiry into the seasonings used in cooking, it was found that a large amount of chili peppers were put in them to cover up the peculiar smell of these meats. At the same time, young people nowadays love spicy food. But what everyone doesn't know is that eating chili peppers will cause the spread of acute inflammation. There are also patients with pelvic peritonitis who eat drinks and food in the refrigerator, or drinks and fruits in winter, and eat them directly without heating, which leads to pelvic peritonitis attacks. Therefore, after the first visit to our pelvic peritonitis patients, the first thing we warn patients is to "control your mouth."

3. Keep your waist, abdomen, hands and feet warm. Young patients with pelvic peritonitis pursue fashion and often wear low-waisted and navel-revealing clothes. During acupuncture and physical therapy, we repeatedly warn young patients to wear less such clothes. We have observed that a group of patients with pelvic peritonitis who have improved will come back a few days before and after the arrival of the traditional Chinese solar term "Winter Solstice". Because of the cold weather outside, coupled with the fact that the waist, abdomen, hands and feet are not kept warm in winter, the disease recurs.

4. During the onset and treatment of pelvic peritonitis, reduce or avoid sexual life, and it is best to prohibit sexual life. Since most patients with pelvic peritonitis are of childbearing age, to put it bluntly, they are in the sexually active period. When you first visit her and tell her that she is forbidden to have sexual life during treatment, some patients will keep asking: "When can I start? How long is the abstinence period?" Such patients often do not follow the doctor's advice, and after the disease recurs, they will blame the doctor, "Why doesn't your medicine work?" When you ask, "Did I violate the taboo?" She will smile embarrassedly, and you can't do anything about it. I will often reprimand her and tell her that if the disease recurs again and she does not follow the doctor's advice, she will bear the responsibility.

5. Keep a good mood and have a proper balance between work and rest. Patients often say, "I want to exercise, skip rope, run, etc.", but the abdominal pain and backache are aggravated, and even pelvic peritonitis attacks acutely. We found that most patients with chronic pelvic peritonitis are often physically exhausted, which is "mixed with deficiency and excess, and damaged vital energy" in terms of TCM pathogenesis. Some normal housework is not competent, let alone physical exercise beyond physical strength? Therefore, I often say, do what you can.
