Cervical warts are a sexually transmitted disease with a relatively high incidence rate. It not only harms the patient himself, but also brings harm to his family. We often hear about cervical warts. There are many causes of cervical warts, but we also have many ways to treat it. The following will introduce in detail what treatment methods to choose for cervical warts. (1) Liquid nitrogen freezing. Dip a cotton swab in liquid nitrogen, apply slight pressure and place it on the lesion for a few seconds. Repeat this process several times. Do this once a week, and several treatments are usually required. Adverse reactions include local edema, which may last for several days. (2) Electrocautery. Suitable for large cervical warts with pedicles. When cervical warts grow in the shape of cauliflower or warts, a pedicle often forms at the base. At this time, electrocautery is the ideal treatment method for cutting the pedicle first. The remaining damage can be treated with freezing, laser or drugs. (3) Surgery. Suitable for large cervical warts. The main part of the wart is removed surgically, and local medication or freezing is used after the wound heals. For some patients with excessively long foreskin, circumcision is recommended. (4) Carbon dioxide laser. Suitable for cases with smaller warts. Cervical warts at the female cervical opening and male urethral opening are difficult to treat with topical medications, so carbon dioxide laser can be used for treatment. (5) Photodynamic therapy. The method is to apply a freshly prepared 20% ALA solution to the affected area for 3 hours, and then irradiate with a 150mj/cm2 helium-neon laser for 20 to 30 minutes. The treatment is repeated every 1 to 2 weeks, and generally 1 to 3 treatments can cure the disease. The cure rate for urethral cervical warts is over 98%, and the recurrence rate is very low. |
