Experts guide the correct use of drugs for cervical precancerous lesions

Compared with other cancers, cervical precancerous lesions progress more slowly, so this helps the treatment of patients. However, although the surgical treatment of cervical precancerous lesions is more effective, many patients are not suitable for surgical treatment due to poor physical condition and other factors. Then we have to choose drug treatment. So what are the drugs for the treatment of cervical precancerous lesions?

There are many neoadjuvant chemotherapy drugs available for cervical precancerous lesions. The selection should be based on the patient's financial situation and the tolerance of their liver and kidney functions to the drugs, so as to minimize side effects and maximize therapeutic effects.

Gemcitabine (GEM) is not only a radiosensitizer, but can also be used in combination with a variety of drugs. Its efficacy for advanced or recurrent cervical precancerous lesions is 11 to 16 percent. Its efficacy in combination with cisplatin can reach 95 percent, and its efficacy for metastatic cervical precancerous lesions is 75 percent.

Cisplatin (DDP) is currently the most effective chemotherapy drug for the treatment of cervical precancerous lesions, with a response rate of 20% when used alone. Carboplatin (CBP), a similar drug to DDP, has a similar or even better efficacy than DDP, and has milder nephrotoxicity than DDP, but greater bone marrow suppression toxicity than DDP. Ifosfamide (IFO) and bleomycin (BLM) are two other commonly used chemotherapy drugs for cervical precancerous lesions, often used in combination with platinum drugs.

Other effective drugs include 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), vincristine (VCR), paclitaxel (TAX), methotrexate (MTX), mitomycin (MMC), oxaliplatin), epirubicin (EPI), etoposide (VP-16), irinotecan (CPT-11), topotecan, etc.
