Taking hormones to delay menopause is not advisable

There is a saying on the Internet that "delaying menopause means delaying aging", so some women deliberately use various methods to artificially delay menopause. However, Li Guangrui, director of the Department of Dermatology at the Wangjing Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, pointed out that the consequence of doing so may be endocrine disorders and the onset of other diseases.

It is understood that only 450-550 follicles can mature in a woman's lifetime. Starting from puberty, one or two follicles mature and then release eggs every month. Some women think that delaying menstruation and reducing ovulation can delay menopause, so they take hormone drugs for a long time.

Although taking estrogen can delay menstruation, it can cause endocrine disorders. In addition, some women taking estrogen may experience side effects such as nausea and vomiting. It can be seen that the method of delaying menopause by taking estrogen drugs for a long time has more disadvantages than advantages, so it is better not to use this method.

Although it is not good for women to have menopause too early, it is not good to have menopause too late either. Premature menopause may lead to gynecological diseases, while the incidence of ovarian and uterine cancer in people who have menopause too late is many times higher than that of normal people.
