What is the cause of recurrence of candidal vaginitis?

In fact, candidal vaginitis is vaginitis caused by fungal infection. Its incidence rate is higher than that of trichomonas vaginitis. In medicine, fungal infection is called Candida infection, so candidal vaginitis is also called Candida vaginitis. What makes many female friends headache is that candidal vaginitis recurs after being cured. So, what causes the recurrence of candidal vaginitis? Generally speaking, the main reasons for the recurrence of candidal vaginitis are:

(1) Recurrent attacks in diabetic patients: Candidal vaginitis is caused by increased acidity in the vagina and long-term glycosuria, which provide favorable conditions for the growth of Candida albicans.

(ii) Frequent or long-term use of antibiotics repeatedly destroys the restrictive relationship between vaginal flora, allowing Candida to grow vigorously.

(3) The human body itself can be a carrier of Candida albicans. When the Candida albicans present in the intestine infects the vagina, it can cause candidal vaginitis. For example, if one has poor hygiene habits and wipes the vulva from the anus toward the urethra after defecation, the Candida albicans in the intestine may be brought into the vagina, repeatedly causing candidal vaginitis.

(iv) Not paying attention to hygiene, washing underwear and socks together. Although it is rare for tinea pedis to cause candidal vaginitis, it is not impossible. If the bacteria that cause tinea pedis are Candida albicans, then the above practices will cause self-infection. In addition, frequently using sanitary napkins and toilet paper that do not meet hygiene standards, or having the habit of washing in a basin, may also lead to repeated candidal vaginitis.

(V) Both husband and wife do not receive treatment at the same time: After a woman suffers from candidal vaginitis, she can transmit the pathogen to her husband through sexual intercourse, making her husband a carrier of the bacteria. About 10% of men may develop balanoposthitis. If only the woman is treated and the man is not, even if the woman is cured, she will be re-infected by her husband, causing the candida to be repeatedly "transmitted" between the couple, and the woman's candidal vaginitis will recur.
