How to diagnose ovulation bleeding

How to diagnose ovulation bleeding

What are the methods for checking and diagnosing ovulation bleeding? Many patients do not understand this issue. In fact, ovulation bleeding, that is, mid-menstrual bleeding, refers to a small amount of bleeding between two normal menstrual periods, which may be accompanied by varying degrees of lower abdominal pain. The following is our detailed introduction, hoping to be helpful to everyone.

1. The clinical manifestations of ovulation bleeding are as follows:

1. Uterine bleeding.

During the menstrual cycle with ovulation, ovulation uterine bleeding occurs. The amount of bleeding is small, and sometimes only brown secretions are present. It usually stops on its own after 23 days, and the longest lasts 7 days.

2. Abdominal pain.

Cyclic intermenstrual pain can be mild or severe and usually lasts for several hours, but in some patients it can last for 23 days.

3. Infertility.

It may be caused by stopping sexual intercourse due to bleeding during ovulation, thus missing the opportunity to conceive. Note: Generally, there are no obvious positive signs. The diagnosis can be confirmed by diagnostic curettage, basal body temperature measurement (basal body temperature is biphasic, and bleeding occurs when low and high temperatures change), and laparoscopy. If the symptoms are mild, no treatment is required. If the bleeding is heavy or affects fertility, medication can be used for treatment.

2. Clinical diagnosis of ovulation bleeding:

1. Measure basal body temperature. It is a biphasic body temperature, and bleeding occurs when the body temperature changes from low to high, which is the ovulation period.

2. Ask your doctor to draw blood to analyze changes in hormone levels in the body.

3. Rule out other diseases that may cause abnormal bleeding, such as uterine fibroids.

3. How to measure basal body temperature correctly

A person's body temperature fluctuates due to the influence of the external environment and the body's internal activities. In order to eliminate these external and internal influences, the body temperature before waking up at 6-7 am is often used as the basal body temperature. The basal body temperature is the lowest body temperature of the human body in a day and night.

Although the method of measuring basal body temperature is simple, it is strict and requires long-term persistence. Before measuring, you need to prepare a thermometer and a record sheet for recording basal body temperature (if there is no such record sheet, you can also use a small piece of square paper instead). Starting from the menstrual period, before getting up in the morning every day, put the thermometer in your mouth for 5 minutes without talking or doing any activities, and then record the measured body temperature on the temperature record sheet.

In order to improve the accuracy of measuring basal body temperature, you should shake the mercury column on the thermometer to below 35℃ before going to bed every night, and put it on the bedside table or next to the pillow so that it is easy to use when you need it. Try to minimize movement.

It will increase the basal body temperature, making the temperature value of the day meaningless. For women who work the middle or night shift, measure the basal body temperature when you first wake up after sleeping for 4-6 hours.

Generally, the basal body temperature needs to be measured for more than 3 menstrual cycles to explain the problem. If the menstrual cycle is regular, after measuring the basal body temperature for several menstrual cycles, you can basically know your ovulation date. In order to reduce trouble, you can choose to test the body temperature from 3-4 days before ovulation, and continue to test for 3-4 days after the body temperature rises. In other words, you only need to measure the basal body temperature during the ovulation period for contraception needs.
