Criteria for the diagnosis of vulvar pruritus

Patients must pay attention to the diagnosis method of vulvar pruritus. Only by correctly understanding the diagnosis method of vulvar pruritus can we ensure early diagnosis and choose appropriate treatment methods. The following is an analysis of the diagnosis method of vulvar pruritus by experts.

Laboratory tests are very necessary for the diagnosis of this disease. The disease cannot be diagnosed without laboratory tests if there is an increase in leucorrhea. Laboratory tests include smear, amine test, culture method, biochemical method, fluorescent antibody method, etc. Smear method and amine test are simple and easy to operate laboratory methods, which are very helpful for diagnosis. Culture or fluorescent antibody test can be performed if conditions permit.

Diagnosis of vulvar pruritus:

(1) Smear microscopy: Clue cells can be found by taking secretions for smear. Clue cells are epithelial cells with a large number of Gardnerella bacteria attached to their surface. The characteristic of the epithelial cell surface is that it is rough or has fine particles, as if it were sprinkled with a layer of flour. The bacteria are Gram-negative coccobacilli.

(2) Amine test: Add a drop of 10% potassium hydroxide solution to vaginal secretions. You can smell a "fishy" ammonia release. This is because the secretions contain a high amount of amines, which can release an ammonia smell when exposed to alkali.

(3) The culture method should be carried out by separation first and then culture. Round, opaque, smooth-surfaced colonies with a diameter of 0.5 mm can be seen.

(4) Biochemical method: Vaginal secretions are taken for biochemical analysis. Normal women have high lactate levels and low succinate levels, while women with this disease have the opposite values.

(5) Fluorescent antibody method: After smear, use fluorescent antibody to stain and examine under a microscope.

Patients must pay attention to the above-mentioned diagnostic methods for vulvar itching. This is necessary to help everyone diagnose the disease early and is also a prerequisite for correct treatment of the disease. In addition, in order to ensure everyone's health, after mastering the diagnostic methods for vulvar itching, everyone must actively consult the advice of relevant experts.
