Will women die from ectopic pregnancy?

Ectopic pregnancy refers to pregnancy that occurs outside the uterine cavity, including any part outside the uterine cavity. The most common of these is fallopian tube pregnancy, which accounts for about 95% of ectopic pregnancies. Others include: cervical pregnancy, scar pregnancy after cesarean section, cornual pregnancy, ovarian pregnancy, abdominal pregnancy... and pregnancy in rare parts such as the liver, a case of which was recently reported.

To put it simply, it is because it will bleed, and it will bleed heavily, and it is invisible heavy bleeding (not vaginal bleeding, because vaginal bleeding is visible and easy to detect, so it is not scary).

Pregnancy is composed of the embryo and the placental villi and other accessory structures that support the development of the embryo. The placental villi have a characteristic that their trophoblasts can grow invasively and have the vascular erosion ability of some malignant tumor cells. The attachment site must be rich in blood supply and blood vessels. Whether the pregnancy results in death or miscarriage, or the site where the villi are located is ruptured due to the growth of the pregnancy, it may cause bleeding. If arterial bleeding is involved, the amount and speed of bleeding are still relatively dangerous.

Who may have an ectopic pregnancy?

Any woman of childbearing age may have an ectopic pregnancy! Here we have to emphasize the concept of "childbearing age". All women who can still menstruate are included, including little girls aged 14 or 15, and perimenopausal women in their 50s who have not yet completely menopausal. Don't swear that "it's impossible, we have taken xxx measures". In any case, as long as you are a woman of childbearing age, as long as you have had sex, whether it happened 1 month ago, 2 months ago, or even 3 months ago, check HCG first!
