Precautions for abortion

Things to note when having an abortion:

(1) Routine preoperative examination shows that the suction device can only be used under negative pressure. During the operation, strict aseptic operation and gentle movements are required. Be careful not to apply negative pressure when the suction tube passes through the cervix.

(2) All high-risk groups, including those with a lactating uterus, a history of cesarean section within one year and suspected poor scar healing, excessive anteflexion or retroflexion of the uterus, a history of two abortions in a short period of time (6 months), genital malformations and pregnancy, and uterine fibroids and pregnancy, should be admitted for hospitalization for surgery.

(3) For those who may be infected, sulfonamides or other antibiotics should be given to prevent infection.

(4) Patients should be observed for 2 hours after surgery. If there is no abnormality, they can be discharged from the hospital. Patients with vaginal bleeding within 2 weeks or not completely stopped are prohibited from taking a bath, and those with vaginal bleeding within 1 month are prohibited from having sexual intercourse to avoid infection. Patients with heavy vaginal bleeding or bleeding lasting for more than 10 days, accompanied by fever and abdominal pain should seek medical attention at any time.
