Amenorrhea refers to a menstrual disorder in women over 18 years old who have not had their menstruation yet, or who have had their menstruation but have stopped for more than 3 months due to reasons other than pregnancy. The following are the two most common causes of the disease. 1. Psychological factors Female amenorrhea caused by adverse psychological factors is most likely to be ignored, but it is also a relatively important pathogenic factor. Female menstruation is closely related to the nervous system and endocrine system. The fiercely competitive environment and complex interpersonal relationships put the brain's nervous system in a highly tense state. Mental tension and emotional fluctuations affect the normal regulatory function of the nervous system, thus leading to amenorrhea. For this type of female amenorrhea, psychological treatment must be carried out. Friendly guidance and catharsis are the most common ways. As long as you maintain a good attitude, menstruation can quickly return to normal. 2. Excessive weight loss Excessive weight loss and inappropriate weight loss methods are harmful to women's health and can lead to amenorrhea. There is a hypothalamus in the brain, which contains the feeding center and the satiety center. When you are forced to reduce your food intake, the cerebral cortex will be forcibly inhibited. Over time, the two appetite centers of the hypothalamus will become dysfunctional, causing weight loss; but it will also affect the luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone secretion center of the hypothalamus, causing the pituitary gland to secrete less luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone, resulting in amenorrhea. Uncontrolled weight loss can lead to anorexia nervosa. Although weight loss occurs quickly, the body's metabolism slows down and becomes low, making it very difficult to restore weight and menstruation. |
