IVF cannot escape the clutches of ectopic pregnancy

IVF cannot escape the clutches of ectopic pregnancy

We know that the degree of patency of the fallopian tube has a direct relationship with the occurrence of ectopic pregnancy. Blocked fallopian tubes can cause infertility and ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy can occur during normal pregnancy, and it can also occur during test tube pregnancy, and even miscarriage and premature birth.

Many patients have such an understanding that there is a chance of ectopic pregnancy after tubal dredging treatment, so they are very worried and think that IVF is the best choice to avoid ectopic pregnancy again. They know that IVF is to culture sperm and eggs in vitro and then send them to the uterine cavity. Because the process of sperm and egg combination does not pass through the fallopian tube, ectopic pregnancy will not occur. In fact, the incidence of ectopic pregnancy in IVF is higher than that after tubal recanalization. Because the embryo is placed in the uterus on the third day, it is injected into the uterine cavity through a transposition tube during the transfer process. From one side, it seems to have the same reason as the angiography and fluid perfusion of the fallopian tube patency test. At this time, the embryonic tissue is very small, and it is also possible to easily inject the embryo into the fallopian tube. At the same time, after the embryo is transferred, it usually has to be free in the uterine cavity for three to four days to find the best implantation point, and then the embryo implants and starts clinical pregnancy. If it runs into the fallopian tube during this period of time, it will cause ectopic pregnancy.

There is no good way to prevent ectopic pregnancy during IVF, unless both fallopian tubes are removed before IVF surgery, which will undoubtedly increase the patient's risk of new surgical trauma and medical risks, and also increase the patient's financial burden.
