Treatment of dysmenorrhea caused by cold-dampness stagnation

Three months ago, when the weather started to get hot, Zhang Jing's workplace started using air conditioners. Zhang Jing's colleagues were delighted, but Zhang Jing suffered because she was having her period during those days and the workplace did not have any spare air-conditioning shirts. As a result, her period only lasted two days before it "ended hastily".

When her next menstruation came, Zhang Jing experienced the "severe" dysmenorrhea, with unbearable abdominal distension and pain, fear of cold, and dark purple menstrual blood with blood clots. Zhang Jing also went to the community hospital for treatment and was diagnosed with dysmenorrhea. She was given indomethacin treatment, but it had little effect.

This time, the menstrual cramps were more severe. Zhang Jing thought that Chinese medicine had certain advantages in regulating the body, so she went to the local Chinese medicine hospital. Zhang Jing had abdominal pain during menstruation, liked warmth and massage, dark red menstrual blood with blood clots, fear of cold and cold limbs, pale face, dark red tongue, white fur, and deep and tight pulse. She was diagnosed with dysmenorrhea caused by cold and dampness in the uterus, which blocked the qi and blood.

The doctor started with warming the meridians to dispel cold, warming the uterus to relieve pain, and used Da Wen Jing Tang to add or subtract ingredients:

Evodia rutaecarpa, Linderae serrata, processed aconite root, mugwort leaf, cinnamon bark, French pinellia root, white peony root, angelica root, Chuanxiong, stir-fried aconite root, and liquorice.

After taking 7 doses of the decoction, Zhang Liang's abdominal pain symptoms disappeared, and the red blood clots also disappeared. The doctor told Zhang Liang to take another 7 doses of the above one week before the next menstrual period. After taking 14 doses of the decoction, Zhang Liang said "goodbye" to dysmenorrhea.
