Causes and analysis of pelvic effusion

Pelvic effusion is a common symptom of pelvic inflammatory disease, which has a great impact on the treatment and care of patients. Through long-term clinical analysis, the causes of pelvic effusion vary according to different types. Here we briefly introduce the two common causes of pelvic effusion .

The first type is physiological pelvic effusion. The cause of this type of pelvic effusion is that the pelvic cavity is the lowest part of the abdominal cavity in the whole body. When there is exudate or leaked fluid, it will be drained into the pelvic cavity, thus forming a pelvic effusion. Some normal women will have a small amount of blood accumulated in the pelvic cavity during menstruation or ovulation, forming a pelvic effusion. Such pelvic effusion is sometimes a good thing. It proves that the woman's fallopian tube is unobstructed. If the fallopian tube has exudation, if the umbrella end is unobstructed, a small amount of exudate will reach the pelvic cavity, thus forming a pelvic effusion.

The second type is pathological pelvic effusion. Most of these pelvic effusions are caused by inflammation, that is, by exudation from chronic pelvic inflammation. A few are caused by ruptured ectopic pregnancy, corpus luteum rupture, pelvic abscess, chocolate cyst, and ovarian cancer. Those caused by acute and chronic pelvic inflammatory disease are often accompanied by lower abdominal pain (bilateral or unilateral), lumbar pain, etc. The specific cause of pelvic effusion is that the serous exudate caused by inflammation cannot be absorbed by the body and slowly accumulates in the body. The location of pelvic effusion often occurs in lower parts of the pelvic cavity such as the rectouterine pouch.

By analyzing the cause of pelvic effusion, we can also understand the condition of pelvic inflammatory disease, which is beneficial to treatment.
