There are two main types of dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea is something that female friends often encounter, and there is not just one type of dysmenorrhea. So, what are the specific types of dysmenorrhea ? In response to this question, let's ask an expert to introduce the types of dysmenorrhea to you, hoping it will be helpful to you.

(I) Types of dysmenorrhea: primary dysmenorrhea

The cause of the disease is not yet fully understood. Dysmenorrhea occurs shortly after menarche and is sometimes closely related to psychological factors. Dysmenorrhea may also be caused by uterine ischemia due to spasmodic contraction of uterine muscles. It is more common in cases of uterine hypoplasia, cervical stenosis or cervical canal stenosis, and excessive uterine curvature, which make menstrual blood flow poorly and cause menstrual blood retention, thereby stimulating uterine contraction and causing dysmenorrhea. In some cases, during menstruation, the endometrium sheds in flakes, and the uterus contracts strongly before discharge, causing pain. The symptoms are relieved after discharge, which is called membranous dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea can usually be relieved after childbirth.

(ii) Secondary dysmenorrhea

It is more common in women after childbirth and in middle age, and is caused by pelvic inflammation, tumors or endometriosis. Endometriosis is the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. The types of dysmenorrhea, such as the myometrium, ovaries or other parts of the pelvic cavity, also have periodic changes and bleeding. During menstruation, the blood cannot flow out, causing pain, and due to adhesions with the surrounding adjacent tissues and organs, the dysmenorrhea gradually worsens. Internal examination can find that the uterus is enlarged and hard, with poor activity, or hard irregular nodules or masses can be palpated in the rectouterine pouch, which are obviously tender.

The above is the introduction of the types of dysmenorrhea, for your reference only. Although dysmenorrhea does not seem to cause much harm to female friends, it is still hoped that female friends can receive treatment as soon as possible.
