Treatment of abnormal leucorrhea in gynecology

An abnormal increase in gynecological vaginal discharge may be a health signal from the body and should be taken seriously. Leucorrhea is a normal secretion of the female reproductive system, but when its amount, color or odor changes significantly, it may indicate inflammation, infection or other gynecological problems.

The main function of leucorrhea is to keep the vagina moist and help resist the invasion of bacteria and viruses. Under normal circumstances, leucorrhea is transparent or milky white, thin or slightly sticky, and has no obvious odor. If leucorrhea suddenly increases and is accompanied by yellow, green, gray, or has symptoms such as odor, itching, and burning, it may be related to diseases such as vaginitis, cervicitis, and pelvic inflammatory disease.

In case of abnormal increase of leucorrhea, you can start with daily care and diet conditioning. Keep the vulva clean and dry, avoid using irritating lotions, choose cotton underwear with good breathability, and change and wash them frequently. In terms of diet, reduce the intake of spicy and greasy foods, eat more fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins and dietary fiber, such as broccoli, carrots, apples, etc., which help to enhance immunity. At the same time, avoid sitting for a long time, exercise appropriately, and promote pelvic blood circulation.

If abnormal vaginal discharge lasts for more than a week or is accompanied by severe discomfort, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time. The doctor will perform a gynecological examination, a routine vaginal discharge examination, etc. based on the specific symptoms, and treat the symptoms after determining the cause. Do not take medication on your own to avoid delaying the condition or aggravating the symptoms.
