Sometimes we want to eat snacks not because we are really hungry, but because we are greedy. People who can't resist snacks but want to quit snacking may want to refer to this study. Appetite recently published the latest publication from the University of Ghent in Belgium. The research team said that if you want to reduce the amount of snacks you eat, you may want to start with sealed packaging. The authors conducted a series of studies to see if sealed packaging could affect the subjects' eating behavior. In one of the studies, the authors recruited consumers who were shopping for groceries in a supermarket and gave them a large bag of Skittles. Half of the participants received the Skittles in a resealable bag, while the other half received the candies in a bag that could not be sealed once opened. The authors recorded how much candy the two groups of subjects ate while strolling around the supermarket. The average experimental results showed that the group of subjects who held the rainbow candies in a sealable package ate a quarter of the package, while the group who held the rainbow candies in a sealable package ate about half a package. The study was published in Appetite, Volume 117, Pages 143-151 This article is from ELSEVIER Global Pharmaceutical News |
