Liu Zhenfang, president of the Obesity Research Society of the Republic of China, said that no matter whether it is due to high pressure or economic downturn, people like to eat at all-you-can-eat restaurants. If they are not careful, they will eat too much and suffer from stomach discomfort. What is more frightening is that after eating too much, they consume too many calories and lack exercise to consume calories, which easily leads to fat accumulation and obesity.

Instead of eating everywhere, the Obesity Research Society of the Republic of China believes that it is better to teach people how to eat healthily. Therefore, it compiled the "Eat and Drink in Balance" manual, which provides the correct eating methods for 11 common types of eating out. As long as you eat according to the methods recommended by nutritionists, your total calorie intake can be reduced by half.

The calorie content of barbecue exceeds 1,000, more than twice that of an adult's meal.

Taking barbecue as an example, the average person consumes about 1017 calories each time. The ingredients include 3 slices of sirloin beef, 2 slices of lean pork, 4 chicken hearts, 1 saury, 1 sausage, 3 small strips of Tianbula, 1 small piece of pig blood cake, 1 bowl of onion + green pepper + wild rice shoots, and 60ml of barbecue sauce.

However, the diet recommended by nutritionists can still enjoy the delicious barbecue, but can reduce the calories to 490 calories. The ingredients include 1 peeled pork drumstick, 2 slices of lean pork, 1/3 corn, 1 small piece of pig blood cake, 1 slice of toast, 2 bowls of onions + green peppers + mushrooms + loofah, and diluted barbecue sauce.

4 tips for eating barbecue without getting fat

How to enjoy the pleasure of eating barbecue while taking into account the calorie issue? Zheng Yiqi suggested the following method:

  1. Replace with low-fat ingredients: Each serving (about three fingers wide and thick) of pork belly contains about 10cc of fat and about 120 calories; the lean parts of pork, beef, and lamb are medium-fat meats, with 5cc of fat and about 75 calories per serving; seafood, fish, and chicken have less fat, with 3cc of fat and 55 calories per serving.

  2. Increase vegetable intake: Replace meat with more vegetables, such as onions, green peppers, wild rice shoots, corn shoots and loofah.

  3. Make good use of stewing and reduce intense grilling: Place a layer of aluminum foil on the grill, or wrap vegetables such as mushrooms and loofah, which are healthier to heat.

  4. Sauce dilution: Generally, barbecue sauce tastes sweeter and has higher calories. It is recommended to dilute it with boiling water in a 1:1 ratio. Squeezing lemon on the barbecue can also increase the flavor of the food.
