5 to 2 weight loss method to lose 2 kg in one week

5 to 2 weight loss method to lose 2 kg in one week

Since last year, a new set of weight loss rules has emerged in the UK, the US and other places, called the "5 to 2 weight loss method", which means that you can choose what you like to eat 5 days a week without any restrictions, but on the other 2 days, calories must be strictly controlled. Women can only consume 500 calories and men 600 calories. This is the concept of cyclical dieting, which is claimed to be more sustainable than complete fasting and less harmful to the body.

A new weight-loss principle proposed by a foreign professor states that the human body only needs to diet two days a week to effectively lose weight.

The British Telegraph reported that suddenly not eating or drastically reducing the amount of food you eat will definitely make people feel uncomfortable. They will eventually fall into a state of binge eating because they cannot control themselves. Not only will they gain weight quickly, but the weight gained will be fat, which is the "yo-yo effect."

The person who developed the 5:2 rule is Dr. Michael Mosley. He found that cyclical dieting can reduce fat better than long-term dieting, increase insulin sensitivity, and reduce cholesterol. Kate Harrison, the author of the book "The 5:2 Diet", also pointed out that this method can help lose up to 2.2 kilograms in a week.

5 days of eating as you like and 2 days of calorie control

The reason why this weight loss method attracts most people to follow is that it does not impose too many restrictions. Only two days in a week are required to diet. The British Dietetic Association (BDA) also pointed out that a 2011 study at the University Hospital of South Manchester has proved that periodic dieting can help fight certain obesity-related cancers, such as reducing the risk of breast cancer.

During the two days of dieting, women limit their calorie intake to 500 calories and men to 600 calories. You can take in all the calories at once, or take them in several times; for example, eat 300 calories for breakfast (2 scrambled eggs, 1 slice of ham), and eat vegetables or grilled fish for lunch or dinner. In between, you can drink more water, green tea or black coffee. However, although there are no restrictions for 5 days, it is best to stay within 2000 calories. Experiments have found that after the transition period, when the body has adapted, overeating usually does not occur.
