In an interview with the media, Hsiao Shu-shen revealed that during her weight loss period, she seemed to be living a "grass-eating" life, not touching starch or oil. The refrigerator at home was only filled with boiled broccoli and chicken breast prepared by her mother. When she was hungry, she would drink water first, and only eat a few bites of vegetables to fill her stomach when she really couldn't bear it anymore.

This drastic weight loss method allowed her to lose 8 kilograms in 2 months, but she also suffered from anorexia. She mentioned that "I have lost my sense of taste after eating tasteless food for a long time." In order to eat, she had to switch to normal food, but she still ate less, only one lunch box a day, divided into three meals.

Huang Yunzhen, a nutritionist at Songde Hospital, said that people who want to lose weight still need to pay attention to a balanced diet in order to maintain the nutrition needed by the human body. Fats, eggs, beans, fish, meat, milk, vegetables, fruits, and grains and root vegetables must be taken into account. Just control the portion and carefully select good ingredients.

As for fat, nutritionist Huang Yunzhen mentioned that the fat in food is not the same as the fat in the body. If there is less fat in the diet, it may cause worse complexion, dry skin, dull hair, poor complexion, etc. In severe cases, it may cause endocrine disorders, insomnia, headaches, etc. Only by consuming sufficient amounts of good oils, such as linseed oil, camellia oil and other vegetable oils, can the internal organs function normally.

In addition, if you do not eat starch to lose weight, you will be more likely to feel hungry, which will affect your mood and make weight loss unsustainable and more likely to make you gain weight again. On the other hand, it will cause ketone acid in the body to soar, causing a burden on the kidneys. The study also pointed out that eating starches with a low glycemic index will not cause weight gain.
