Liu Zhongzheng, a gastroenterologist at Tong Hospital, said that pinworms, also known as "fecal-mouthed worms," ​​are about 0.2 to 0.8 centimeters in size. Female pinworms usually move to the anus while the host is sleeping at night to lay eggs in large numbers, causing itching. Pinworms mainly parasitize in the large and small intestines and survive by absorbing human blood, food and nutrients in the intestines. If not treated in time, the host is prone to symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, anemia, malnutrition, etc. The pinworms may even drill into the vagina, liver, lungs, heart and other human organs and parts by mistake, causing fatal diseases.

Doctor Liu Zhongzheng said that although pinworms can help people lose weight quickly, the health cost and risks are too great, so people should never try it.
