However, the Democratic Progressive Party countered that according to a document from the World Trade Organization (WTO), President Ma Ying-jeou's statement on the 14th that "the Chen government was preparing to report the retained value of ractopamine to the WTO in 2007" was a lie. In response to this, Yin Wei also provided clarifications.

Yin Wei pointed out that President Ma has never lied on the issue of American beef. A review of the "Description of Content" in Point 6 of the Notification sent by the Department of Health during the Chen Shui-bian administration to the SPS Committee of the World Trade Organization on August 16, 2007 clearly states "To establish the residue limits for veterinarydrug ractopamine on the muscle, fat, liver and kidney of cattle and pigs." It is written in black and white and cannot be denied.

Yin Wei questioned that the DPP not only lied to shirk responsibility, but also maliciously slandered President Ma for "distorting facts, lying, and shirking responsibility." Can DPP Acting Chairman Chen Ju accept the DPP setting such a negative example of democracy? Chen Ju recently declared that "the DPP has a consistent position on the issue of American beef," but her own spokesperson produced information to contradict herself, and also proved that the DPP not only wants to open up beef, but also pork and beef and pig offal. Shouldn't this be clearly explained to the people?

Yin Wei said that Lin Junxian took out the original document yesterday and argued that the document sent by the Chen government to trading partners around the world in 2007 "hoped that the Codex Alimentarius Commission (Codex) would establish international standards as a basis for evaluation." However, when reviewing the same original document, there was no such sentence. This sentence was added by Lin Junxian himself.

Another KMT spokesman, Ma Wei-kuo, further revealed that the DPP deliberately did not mention that in the notification document and its annexes on August 16, 2007, not only did it state that the allowable amount of ractopamine would be set for the "muscle, fat, liver, and kidney" of "cattle and pigs," but the allowable amounts for individual items were also clearly marked: 10 ppb for the muscle and fat of cattle and pigs, 40 ppb for the liver of cattle and pigs, and 90 ppb for the kidneys of cattle and pigs.

She questioned why the DPP spokesperson did not say a word about this? Why not disclose such important key information to the public? This is not only a deliberate lie, but also a deliberate concealment of the facts.
