Women who suffer from cystitis are prone to recurring attacks, so it is easy to neglect the condition and think that it can be treated. In fact, they may be hiding the bomb of bladder cancer without knowing it. A 55-year-old woman often suffered from lower abdominal discomfort and a slight burning sensation when urinating. Because she had a history of chronic cystitis, she thought it was just another bladder inflammation and did not take it seriously. As the discomfort symptoms persisted without improvement, she sought further medical attention. After cystoscopy and biopsy, it was discovered that she had bladder cancer in situ. Cystitis is prone to recurring, and once cell changes occur, it may cause malignant tumors. Shen Bingqing, director of Rongxin Clinic, said that chronic cystitis refers to recurrent bladder inflammation 2 or more times within 6 months, or inflammation lasting more than 2 weeks. It is more common in women and is related to factors such as infection, urinary tract stones, poor urination, frequent sexual intercourse, gynecological problems, menopause, genes, structural abnormalities and smoking. Many patients in the outpatient clinic tend to ignore the symptoms of recurrent cystitis, thinking that they can get better as long as they endure it or take antibiotics on their own. However, they do not realize that the risk of cancer may be right beside them. Shen Bingqing pointed out that according to domestic and foreign literature, bladder malignant tumors mostly occur between the ages of 50 and 70, and more than 50% of the clinical manifestations are painless hematuria, with a male to female ratio of about 3:1. Chronic bladder inflammation causes the bladder surface to be stimulated by inflammatory reactions for a long time, causing cells to become pathological, which may lead to the occurrence of bladder malignant tumors. Shen Bingqing suggested that for people who are more susceptible to cystitis, in addition to going to the urology clinic for medical treatment when symptoms occur, they should develop good habits and concepts of drinking plenty of water and not holding urine. In terms of diet, it is recommended to consume more foods containing more vitamins A, B and C and cranberries, or eat more yogurt with live bacteria. In addition, the daily urine output should be maintained at at least 2000cc, and personal hygiene should be paid attention to. Remember to empty the urine after sexual intercourse and try to take a shower instead of a bath. These are all effective ways to prevent cystitis. In addition, avoid frequent consumption of spicy foods, chocolate, beverages containing caffeine, saccharin, alcohol, carbonated drinks and high-fat foods. When symptoms of bladder inflammation occur, you must cooperate with your doctor and follow up on treatment regularly to avoid delaying the disease and causing bladder malignancy. |
