What is ectopic pregnancy and what are its symptoms

What is an ectopic pregnancy? What are its symptoms?

Ovarian pregnancy - a rare ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy is the most common type of tubal pregnancy, accounting for about 95%. If an ectopic pregnancy occurs in the ovary, it is rare. The main symptoms of ovarian pregnancy are menopause, abdominal pain, and vaginal bleeding. Rupture can cause abdominal bleeding and even shock.

The patient has a history of menopause. Ovarian pregnancy is the same as normal pregnancy, and menstruation stops. Since ovarian pregnancy is very rare, it is often misdiagnosed as tubal pregnancy, ovarian cyst, corpus luteum rupture, acute appendicitis, etc., which delays treatment and brings serious consequences to the patient. Doctors should understand the medical history in detail and carefully examine the patient's B-ultrasound and other imaging examinations. At the same time, doctors are required to select the essence from the coarse, eliminate the false and retain the true judgment, and reduce misdiagnosis.

The pathological diagnostic criteria for primary ovarian pregnancy are:

1. The fallopian tube is intact.

2. There must be a blastocyst in the ovarian tissue.

3. The ovaries and embryonic sac are connected to the uterine ligaments.

4. There is ovarian tissue on the embryonic sac wall. There should be ovarian tissue in multiple places on the embryonic sac wall and there should be a distance between two ovarian tissues. There must be ovarian tissue between the embryonic tissue and the surrounding adhesion tissue.

5. Observation under the microscope not only shows that the fallopian tube tissue is normal, but also there is no evidence of pregnancy. Based on the above points, it can be distinguished from secondary ovarian inflammation after tubal pregnancy rupture or miscarriage. In general, oophoritis is not serious because there is very little muscle tissue in the ovarian tissue. However, when oophoritis is mixed with salpingitis and pelvic inflammatory disease, the symptoms are severe and can even be diagnosed as toxic shock.
