How is cervicitis usually treated?

Cervicitis is one of the common gynecological diseases, which can be divided into acute and chronic types, with chronic inflammation being the most common. Acute cervicitis is mainly manifested by redness and swelling of the cervix and edema of the cervical mucosa, often accompanied by acute vaginitis or acute endometritis. Chronic cervicitis has a variety of manifestations, including erosive changes, cervical columnar epithelial ectopia, cervical hypertrophy, cervical polyps, cervical glandular cysts, and cervical ectropion.

There are three main treatments for cervicitis:

1. Oral medication: For patients with cervicitis, they can take oral doxycycline hydrochloride dispersible tablets, cefixime tablets and other drugs under the guidance of a doctor. These drugs can play an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory role and relieve symptoms.

2. Injectable drugs: Patients infected with transmitted diseases and endogenous pathogens can be treated with injectable drugs under the guidance of a doctor, such as ceftriaxone sodium injection, levofloxacin hydrochloride injection, and spectinomycin hydrochloride injection.

3. Physical therapy: including microwave, laser, electric iron, lip knife and other physical therapy methods. These treatment methods will destroy the columnar epithelium on the surface, so that the new squamous epithelium covers the cervix, achieving the therapeutic effect.

The treatment of cervicitis needs to comprehensively consider the patient's condition, symptoms, pathogen type and other factors to choose the most appropriate treatment method. At the same time, during the treatment period, patients need to keep the vulva clean, avoid sexual intercourse and other precautions to promote recovery.
