What should I do if my menstrual flow decreases after medical abortion?

Medical abortion clinically refers to drug abortion. The reduction of menstrual volume after medical abortion may be caused by endocrine disorders, endometritis, uterine adhesions, etc. It can be treated by medication and surgery.

1. Endocrine disorders: If the fetus is poorly developed or deformed, it can be improved through medical abortion. After medical abortion, the hormone level in the body will change, which may easily affect normal menstruation, reduce menstruation, increase menstrual volume, menstrual cycle disorders and other symptoms. Oral progesterone capsules, dydrogesterone tablets, medroxyprogesterone acetate tablets and other drugs can be taken under the guidance of a doctor.

2. Endometritis: If you have sex too early after medical abortion, or if your private parts are not well-hygienic, it may cause endometritis. Under the invasion of inflammation, symptoms such as decreased menstruation, abdominal pain, and increased vaginal discharge are likely to occur. It is recommended to take oral metronidazole tablets, levofloxacin hydrochloride capsules, clindamycin hydrochloride capsules and other drugs under the guidance of a doctor.

3. Intrauterine adhesion: If there are residues in the uterus after medical abortion, bacterial infection may cause intrauterine adhesion, affecting normal menstruation, accompanied by fever and increased vaginal discharge. It is recommended to take oral amoxicillin capsules, penicillin V potassium tablets, cefuroxime axetil tablets and other drugs under the guidance of a doctor.

In addition to the common causes mentioned above, adnexitis may also be the cause. Keeping your private parts clean during the treatment process will help your body recover.
