What is abnormal uterine bleeding after menopause?

As the population ages, the number of women experiencing menopause increases. In order to enjoy a comfortable old age, you must be responsible for your own health. Have regular physical examinations to detect possible signs of disease, actively seek medical treatment, and timely detect and treat. First, clarify the definition of menopause: continuous menopause for more than 12 months, accompanied by changes in blood biochemical indicators, FSH>40IU/L and E2

Abnormal conditions that may occur after menopause:

1. Postmenopausal bleeding: abnormal uterine bleeding or vaginal spotting occurs more than one year after menopause.

2. Postmenopausal endometrial thickening: Gynecological ultrasound indicates that the endometrial thickness is >5mm. Usually the thickest point of the endometrium is measured, between the interface of the endometrium and the myometrium, through the sagittal plane of the uterus.

For women with postmenopausal bleeding, the endometrium should first be obtained through curettage and other methods for pathological examination. However, for some patients, curettage and other methods after menopause may not be able to scrape out the endometrium or find problems. For example, endometrial polyps or submucosal fibroids, or even endometrial cancer, and uterine adhesions after EA surgery can lead to the failure of endometrial collection and other methods, covering up endometrial lesions. Hysteroscopy is a better choice to exclude endometrial malignant lesions in such patients.

Advantages of hysteroscopy: The entire uterine cavity can be directly visualized during the examination, and tissue biopsy can be performed directly on the site of suspicious lesions, reducing the risk of missing lesions.
