How to check for vaginitis

How to check for vaginitis

Methods for examining vaginitis include physical examination by a doctor, secretion examination, vaginal pH measurement, etc.

1. Doctor's physical examination: The doctor will check the patient's vulva, vagina, and cervix for infection. During the examination, the vagina needs to be opened with a speculum to directly check whether the vaginal mucosa is congested and edematous, and to check the vaginal secretions. Generally, the type of vaginitis can be preliminarily determined. For example, the vaginal mucosa of trichomoniasis vaginitis will be obviously congested, and in severe cases, there will be scattered bleeding spots, and even bleeding spots on the cervix, forming a strawberry-like cervix; the secretions will increase significantly and be grass green or yellow.

2. Secretion examination: The specific type of vaginitis can be checked by taking vaginal secretions. Do not wash the vagina or apply medicine before taking secretion samples, and avoid sexual intercourse before the examination.

3. Vaginal pH measurement: When combined with some infections, pH changes may occur, which can be judged based on the results of vaginal pH measurement.

4. Other examinations: gynecological examination, vaginal secretion culture, drug sensitivity test, electronic colposcopy, etc.

Through the above examinations, the specific type and cause of vaginitis can be determined, providing an accurate basis for subsequent treatment. At the same time, during the treatment process, it is necessary to follow the doctor's instructions, take medicine on time, have regular checkups, and maintain good living habits and hygiene habits to promote recovery.
