What are the dangers of cervical hypertrophy?

If you have cervical hypertrophy, you should pay attention to regular cervical cancer screening. Simple cervical hypertrophy does not have too many adverse effects, so there is no need to worry.

Cervical hypertrophy is a common manifestation of gynecological cervicitis, often accompanied by increased leucorrhea, vulvar itching and other discomforts. It is mainly due to long-term inflammatory stimulation leading to cervical congestion, edema and interstitial hyperplasia.

Cervical hypertrophy may also have no obvious symptoms, or may cause increased vaginal discharge, vulvar itching, and other discomforts. When you go to the hospital, you will be told that your cervix is enlarged. Some inflammations last too long, and not only will it manifest as cervical hypertrophy, but it will also be accompanied by cervical columnar epithelial ectopy. Therefore, when accompanied by cervical columnar epithelial ectopy, some women may have vaginal bleeding, etc. Cervical hypertrophy is a manifestation of cervicitis. If it lasts for a long time and is not treated, it may cause endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc., and ultimately affect pregnancy.

Cervical hypertrophy itself is not terrible. The main concern is that cervical columnar epithelial ectopy and severe infection can lead to intraventricular bleeding, and when secondary pelvic inflammatory disease occurs, it can lead to infertility. For women with cervical hypertrophy, regular cervical cancer screening is very important. Usually, keeping the vulva clean, paying attention to sexual hygiene, eating a light diet, and timely treatment of gynecological vaginitis are helpful in preventing cervical hypertrophy.
