It is normal for menstruation to be delayed for 3-7 days. When menstruation comes, the pelvic cavity will be congested, sometimes causing backache, back pain, abdominal distension, etc. Use pregnancy test strips to test whether you are pregnant.

If pregnancy is ruled out, the following should be done:

Keep a happy spirit, avoid mental stress and mood swings, experience lower abdominal distension, back pain, breast pain, mild diarrhea during menstruation, and avoid excessive fatigue, drowsiness, or emotional instability and irritability.

Second, pay attention to hygiene, prevent infection, clean the external genitalia, and absolutely no sexual intercourse during menstruation. Keep warm, avoid cold stimulation, and avoid eating brown sugar if you have heavy menstrual bleeding.

Third, underwear should be soft, cotton, and breathable. It should be washed and changed frequently, and the changed underwear should be dried in the sun.

Fourth, it is not advisable to eat raw, cold, irritating, and spicy food, drink more boiled water, and keep the bowels open. People with hot blood should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables before menstruation. People with insufficient qi and blood must increase nutrition at ordinary times, such as milk, eggs, soy milk, pork liver, spinach, etc., and avoid eating raw and cold fruits.
